Prime Big Deal Days 2026: Dates, What to Expect, and How to Prepare

It’s October, and you know what that means: The Halloween candy stash is never going to make it to the 31st. It also means Amazon’s annual sale event — Prime Big Deal Days — is just around the corner, bringing some of the lowest prices since, well, Amazon’s other annual sale event.

Here’s everything you need to know: When it’s happening, what to expect, and how to make sure you can get the deals you want.

When is Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2026?

This year’s event spans two days: Tuesday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 7. Of course, this being Amazon, there are plenty of early Prime Big Deal Days sales happening already.

One of my favorites: The Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet for just $73, the lowest price of 2026.

What do I need to shop Amazon Prime Big Deal Days?

The key word there is “Prime”: Although some items will be discounted for all shoppers, many of the best deals require you to have an Amazon Prime subscription.

There are, of course, loads of benefits to that subscription, including free 2-day (and sometimes 1-day) shipping, tons of movies and TV shows via Prime Video, discounts on gas, a free GrubHub+ membership, and so on.

It costs $15 per month or $139 annually, so it’s not exactly cheap, but here’s a great hack: You can sign up for a free 30-day Amazon Prime trial, scoop up all the Prime Big Deal Days deals you want, then cancel.

What will be on sale during Prime Big Deal Days?

Everything! OK, not everything, but a lot. Many, if not most, Amazon sellers take advantage of the big sale to roll out discounts, and of course Amazon proper cuts prices on just about every branded product. (That includes lots of tech items, including TVs, Kindles, smart-home stuff, and so on.)

Here are just some of the confirmed Prime Big Deal Days categories:

• Beauty
• Books
• Clothing
• Electronics
• Home, Garden, and Tools
• Pets
• Sports & Outdoors

Bottom line: If you’re looking to score a deal on something, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to.

Prime Big Deal Days shopping tips

I’ve been a deal shopper my entire adult life, and I’ve been covering Amazon sales since the very first Prime Day. So trust me when I say these tips can help you make the most of the big event.

1. Shop early: As noted above, many products are already on sale. And sometimes particularly good deals sell out, so if you spot something on your wish-list, grab it now.
2. Make sure that deal is really a deal: If you’re not certain whether a sale price is really the best price (meaning it’s been lower in the past, and therefore might be again in the future), I’m a big fan of CamelCamelCamel. It shows you a complete price history for an Amazon product — and let’s you set up alerts to get notified if a product hits the target price you’re after.
3. Check DealSeek’s deal page: We’ve rounded up the top 50 early October Prime Day deals (completely with any necessary promo codes), and we’ll have tons more once the actual event kicks off. So bookmark that page and check it often.
